Are the Israelis the Only Humans in the Middle East?
A thought experiment: Let's imagine the Middle East is just a bunch of Israels of different sizes
There’s a lot that’s baffling about people’s attitudes about the Middle East. I mean, there’s all the moron Jew haters who just rail against Israel because it's full of Jews, but it’s safe to ignore them and not try to engage with them intellectually. No, what’s more baffling are the people who try to say they’re sophisticated Westerners who don’t just hate the Jews but have some legitimate complaint with Israel as a country.
That’s because their complaints are always directed at Israel.
“Here is what Israel needs to do…”
“Israel needs to stop…”
“Israel must…”
They never say, “Here’s what Hamas and the people of Gaza should do to bring peace…”
They never even mention the other countries like Egypt — which shares a border with Gaza — do anything to help out. They don’t even say, “Hey, maybe it would help things if everyone around Israel stopped obsessing about killing the Jews.” The people openly calling for genocide aren’t even worth a thought.
It’s like they act like the only ones in the whole region you can expect any humanity from is Israel. They treat the whole region like it’s a bunch of dumb, savage animals who can’t help who they are and then one group of responsible humans you can make basic demands of humanity.
