Frank Thoughts: Soccer, Mysterious Drownings, and Trump Indictment
I try to translate my important thoughts to the English word
Women’s Soccer
So, the U.S. women’s soccer team came up with a great strategy this year: Since soccer is essentially an anti-American sport, they tried hating America to be better at it.
It didn’t work out! They lost! To a foreign country!
Still, they really cheered when Rapinoe missed that goal since they got to watch their most hated country lose.
Poll Shows Republicans Think This New Guy Trump Sounds Really Good
So I keep seeing polls like the one above that shows a majority of Republican voters think Trump is the choice who is best at “being a strong leader,” “getting things done,” and “able to beat Joe Biden.” Wow, they must really like his sales pitch in the primary.
I don’t think a lot of Republicans must follow the news — they’re probably busy like me — but they should know Trump was actually president from 2016 to 2020, so you can actually look at how he did. Now, apparently, a lot of the general election voters do remember he was president, and they don’t really rate him high on the first two items. I mean, he put Fauci in charge during COVID and was constantly hiring people and then later saying the people he hired were the worst people ever, but it was never his fault — not really a great leader. And the people who remember all this are going to be most of the people voting in the election!
And as for “able to beat Joe Biden,” get this: Trump actually ran against Joe Biden in 2020 and lost. In fact, Trump is the only one of the Republican candidates with a record of not being able to beat Joe Biden.
Oh boy, someone better inform the Republican voters of all this before they make a big mistake!
China and COVID
So it’s become more and more apparent that China made COVID in a lab, so is like anyone going to do anything about that? Like say, “Hey, China, you better not cause the deaths of millions of people worldwide along with trillions in damage!” Or is this like a three-strikes thing?
Good Guys in WWII
With the release of the movie Oppenheimer, there’s been more debate about whether the Allies were really better than the Axis. On one side, you have a group trying to defend freedom throughout the world, and on the other side, you have genocidal monsters murdering people. So, you know, it’s hard to say. Not everything is so black and white.
It’s weird for some on the far left to question whether the Allies were any better than the Axis after calling people “Nazis” as an epithet so much. But I guess the focus on WWII has made the far left remember that the Nazis hate America — just like the far left! Anyone who hates America can’t be all bad!
New Trump Indictment
So Trump was indicted again. This is related to when he was president — if you remember that. He’s being indicted for trying to overturn the election, but I’m not sure it’s a very good case. Trump was unable to get anyone with any power to go along with his schemes (there’s his poor leadership to the rescue), so I’m not sure he did anything but talk about it. And if you could imprison people for talking about schemes that are clearly unconstitutional, there goes most of Twitter… I mean X.
Superconductor
So, some people have claimed to make a room-temperature superconductor!
Yeah, I don’t know what that is, either. You know how some things are conductors? Well, this one is super. And it does it at room temperature. The others, to be superconductors, you had to like use them on the far side of Pluto. But these you can use in Alabama or Seoul, which are much closer.
Exciting! …I guess. So, anyway, a superconductor will conduct electricity without any resistance whatsoever. So, really, it’s a huge step backward for incandescent lightbulb filaments.
Trump’s Legal Fees
A lot of Republicans who don’t like Trump are making a big deal about how he’s spending most of his campaign funds on legal fees, but that’s really disingenuous. Would they rather Trump spend that money on campaigning and making himself more likely to win the primary? That’s the last thing they want!
Ghost Gun
The Supreme Court has allowed the regulation of ghost guns. I’m not sure of my opinion on ghost guns because I’ve never quite understood whether they’re guns used by ghosts or guns for shooting ghosts. That makes a big difference.
Book Banning
The Democrats keep talking about how Republicans are banning books, and it’s really confusing because don’t they hate free speech more than life itself? They use it like a dirty word lately. Maybe they’re praising Republicans. “You guys are finally coming around on that free speech issue; we told you it was bad.”
Obama Chef Drowns
A lot of people are jumping on a conspiracy theory about Obama’s personal chef accidentally drowning just because Obama’s previous two personal chefs also drowned after investigating the mysterious red door in his house he told no one to ever open. Things just happen, people; not everything is a conspiracy.
And leave that door alone.
