The Four Things to Pay Attention to In the Debate
It's an important debate, so know how to watch it
There’s a presidential debate today — perhaps the only one between them — and the stakes couldn’t be higher as pretty much everyone shows it’s a close race. Thus, a great performance here could clinch a win.
So what matters in a debate? Well, here’s what you need to pay attention to.
The Four Things to Pay Attention to In the Debate
Words
In the debate, the words the candidates are going to say are going to be important, so you’ll need to pay attention to some of them. How many words? It’s hard to say as there will be a lot of them, and it would be extremely unreasonable to ask someone to pay attention to all of them. Maybe try to comprehend about 30% of the words. That’s probably enough to get a decent gist of what was said. If you don’t understand all the words, write them down and look them up later. If you don’t understand absolutely any of the words, make sure you’re actually watching the debate in your native language.
Body Language
The next most important thing after words is body language. If one is tilting his or her head up and down, that’s a nod and that expresses agreement. If one instead rotates the head at the next left and right, that’s called “shaking one’s head” and expresses disagreement. If one of them tilts his or her head to the side, pressing the ear to each shoulder, the candidate might just be doing a warm up exercise. Pay special attention to if one of the candidate ever looks directly in the camera and runs a finger across his or her neck; that could mean the candidate is threatening the American people. Be careful of that candidate.
Magical Auras
The next thing you should look for is magical auras — like if the candidate glows certain colors. If one of the candidate starts to glow yellow, that means the candidate is about to attack and you need to parry. If instead the candidate glows red, an unlockable attack is coming and you need to dodge. If a candidate glows blue… I’m not sure what that means. Use a shield spell just in case if you have one.
Loo-Kee.
Finally, the last thing you need to look for is Loo-Kee. She appears at some point in the background of every debate.
You don’t get anything for spotting her, but it’s just a fun thing to do. If you don’t spot her, don’t worry — she’ll appear at the end of the debate and tell you where she was.
There you go! Have fun watching the debate. Actually, it doesn’t really matter how you watch it as you probably already knew who you were voting for anyway. It’s really for the undecideds who are probably instead going to watch yet another Law & Order spinoff.
My favorite way to watch a debate is via transcript! My second favorite way is sedated.
Yeah, I can't stand listening to either of them speak anyways. Easy skip.
