Hey, it’s my low-effort Thanksgiving post since most people are busy today and probably won’t read it. So let’s just have a post where everyone shares what they’re thankful for.
Well, I’m thankful for my family. And I’m thankful Chip Chilla and the rest of Bentkey finally came out so, for the first time, I got to make something my kids enjoy.
Also I’m thankful for my readers — especially the paid ones (people actually pay for this!) — but I am really thankful for anyone who spends the time to read my writing.
And I’m thankful for the great country the United States of America, which is always lots of fun.
What are you thankful for this year?
I'm thankful to not be dead, for coworkers who knew CPR, for EMS professionals, for modern medicine, and for my second son (4th child, 17 months old). I have been dead from sudden cardiac death, twice, and resuscitated both times (first time by CPR and EMS, second time by my implanted cardio defibrillator). Thankful for my second son specifically because he wouldn't exist if I'd died that first time around. I don't think about this on most days but I do on Thanksgiving. It's the best holiday.
I’m thankful for salvation in Jesus Christ! I’m thankful for the love shared with my family and friends. I’m also thankful for laughter - Frank, you have provided a lot of it to me over the years. Thanks for the many hours of enjoyment with your books and other various writings. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!
I am thankful I get to see the world anew from my young children's eyes (2 years and 4 months), and thankful I have the opportunity to share the wonders of life with them for the time I am allotted.
Aww, Rob Behlmer stole the best one. I guess I'll have to go with being thankful for AI-generated images of Ron DeSantis puns instead.
I’m thankful that Hellbender has a bunch of clean jokes despite being kinda PG-13. And I’m thankful for chinchillas that say grace before meals. Thanks, Frank!
(Psst-- I’m also thankful for your paywalled comment sections! I can be as normal as I want without getting cancelled!)
For today. Being with my two sons and hubby on this day. For my best friend who live too far away yet always communicates her joy to me on the holidays. For my dad. Just glad he’s still around.
I ‘m thankful that FrankJ allows us access to his endlessly mind, all for such a paltry fee, without requiring the back-breaking labor he formerly demanded before he became a big-time writer/content provider. Things are good!
I'm grateful that I finally allowed my husband to convince me that we can be happy with a simple meal: 5 things including the gravy. And I'm thankful that I decided to make the mashed potatoes and green bean casserole yesterday, so I only had to heat them today. And I'm grateful that I was disciplined enough to throw out the leftover green bean casserole, since I'm the only one who eats it, and I don't need to be eating it for the next three days!
At the moment, thankful for rain. This is a weird twist for someone who grew up in Southern California and hated rainy days. But I’ve learned to appreciate it and also how much we need it, especially in the southwestern US.
