Was the Media Lying to Us About Biden's Age and Fitness?
We now know Biden is too old to be President, but the media was telling us otherwise
We all saw the debate last week.
Well, maybe not all of us. I guess you could have been watching Netflix. But of those of us who watched — we all saw what happened: Biden be the oldest anyone had ever olded in a Presidential debate.
In fairness, Trump was pretty old too — looking older than he had been in his previous term — but you could hardly notice next to Biden who appeared old enough to be Trump’s father. Biden gave a performance worthy of a nursing home there on the presidential debate stage, fumbling his way through words and thoughts to the point where even if you hate him (and I hate him because he has different politics than me), you had to feel sorry for him.
But why is Biden’s oldness finally being acknowledged now? We expect politicians to lie to us so of course the Democrats would be covering this up, but what about the media? Why weren’t they on exactly how bad he is long ago? Were they part of the cover up?
Well, let’s look at headlines recently when people started to notice how Biden stumbles and freezes up in public.
They made it sound like a conspiracy theory to notice that an 81-year-old is acting like he’s over 80. But it’s not just them dismissing concerns. They also put out stories of how great Biden is behind closed doors — like he’s super energetic whenever the public isn’t looking at him. For instance, check out this headline:
I accepted this at face value when it first was published, but now I’m wondering if this happened at all. Could the media have made up how fit Biden is?
And the media kept asserting other things that just didn’t seem true but felt more like cover for people realizing how old Biden is. Like this one:
This just doesn’t seem like it could be true at all. Who even are these scientists? And how would you mistake a twenty-year-old for an eighty-year-old? And wasn’t Biden a Senator back in the early seventies? That’s not possible for someone in his twenties; he’s not even old enough to Constitutionally eligible to be a Senator now.
And what about this headline:
Again, I don’t want to accuse the media of completely making things up, but it feels like they were inventing things to keep people from worrying about Biden even though those worries were well-founded. And if Biden was shot and the bullets bounced off of him, how come there was no mention of a gunman? Feels like they’d be hunting that guy down instead of just shrugging and saying, “Well, Biden is bulletproof.”
And this last headline just feels like gaslighting:
I’m pretty sure this is just not true. I mean, I am forty-five now — which is pretty old — but not like senile old. Like, sometimes I go into a room and forget why I went there, but nothing more than that. No, I’m like certain it is Biden who is senile.
So, yeah, I don’t like casting aspersions on our revered media, but I think they may have been covering for Biden and how too old he is. Sorry.
Sadly these headlines perfectly reflect the attitude of the media these days. Great job Frank!
I think it's pretty obvious they're getting ready to switch him out before the convention.
